Where to start this morning? there are quite a few rumours circulating regarding players coming in for next season. One thing is for certain there is much need for investment especially with a reported 8+ Players to be part of a clear-out this summer.
Wayne Rooney
This one seems extremely unlikely, Man United have rejected his third transfer request and it seems if he does leave Old Trafford, Bayern Munich seem to be favourites and with the £30 Million plus price tag this seems doomed from the word go. The pessimistic part of me would have to suggest this is a rumour circulated by the club to try to boost season ticket sales for next season
Stevan Jovetic
This is one story that will just not go away, rumours of talks are ongoing with Fiorentina and the player’s representatives. He has been on Arsene Wenger‘s radar for quite sometime and has impressed on various scouting missions carried out by the club. The key part of negotiations seems to be Champions league qualification with Arsenal’s qualification still in the balance and Fiorentina just one point away from qualifying for the same competition.
he would most definitely improve the squad but there may well be several factors hampering this deal from going through.
Rene Adler
If there is one position that Wenger needs to strengthen next season it is in the form of a new Goalkeeper. Reports coming out of Germany have been suggesting that Adler who is now 28 fits the bill. Hamburg claim they are still yet to receive any contact from any club for his services but they do expect the interest to be real. It is very important that there is someone to challenge Szczesny and more importantly there is an experienced head in the camp.
Julian Draxler
The Schalke and German international has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Emirates and could be available for a fee around £16 million. the very skillful winger would add a fresh dynamic to the squad and I would welcome this. Arsenal will have to move quick as it is believed that Dortmund see him as an ideal replacement for Mario Gotze who is set to complete his move to their rivals Bayern Munich this summer.
Julio Pleguezuelo Selva
This is a strange one and a story that will no doubt anger a lot of Gooners this morning. Another 16 year old for the academy when there are more pressing issues to address at the club. Although Selva is highly rated for his age it seems a strange choice to be looking at youth all the while there are bigger positions that need to be filled this summer.
These are just a pick of some of the rumours that have been doing the rounds over the last few days one thing is certain Arsenal need to strengthen in all areas of the pitch if they are to challenge for honours next season. The main worry is that Wenger looks for bargains once again which will no doubt anger the faithful as he is reportedly sitting on £70 million.
